  • If client is self propelling wheelchair then concrete pad may need to be below grade to mount wheelchair lift.
  • Side mounted wheelchair lifts are difficult for wheelchairs with elevating leg rests, recliners, tilt and geri chairs.
  • Porch may need to be raised to threshold height for ease of access by wheelchair.

There are a variety of wheel chair lift manufacturers. ThyssenKrupp Access based out of Kansas City, Missouri has a commercial grade whelchair lift that is an enclosed wheelchair lift . They also have a portable wheelchair lift and a residential wheelchair lift . Another supplier of vertical platform lifts is Concord Elevator out of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Concord's commercial grade Pal wheelchair lift is comparable to the Garaventa wheelchair lift . A less popular wheelchair lift is made by a company called Inclinator out of Harrisburg, PA.
